Lizzie Garrett Mettler is a Los Angeles-based journalist and copywriter. She has written for The Los Angeles Times, Vogue, Elle, McSweeney’s, Bon Appétit, and Condé Nast Traveler, among many other publications, covering lifestyle, culture, and social issues. Her first book, based on her award-winning blog Tomboy Style (2010–2015), was published by Rizzoli in 2012. In addition to her writing, she consults with fashion labels on marketing strategies and supports creative agencies with copywriting, social media direction, and brand creative for clients including Johnnie-O, Loam, and General Electric. Mettler has appeared as a contributor on CNN and has spoken on CBC Radio and NPR. She earned a graduate degree in Digital Media Management from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at USC. In 2025, Lizzie co-founded Dry Run, a newsletter and podcast exploring the modern paradigm of sobriety.
